Episode 20: Dustin Horvath

Talking ADHD, Stay at Home Parenting, Research & Learning

For episode 20 of the Dad Dialogue podcast, Laurence is joined by Dustin Horvath. Dustin is a father of two young girls and is a dad with ADHD. A former educator, Dustin now offers consulting services to young people who may also have ADHD to help them plan for their future.

Dustin shares his insight into what it looks like being a father with ADHD and how his approach to parenting alters based on the various research he does in his particular field.

When his daughters were younger, Dustin was a stay at home dad. We talk about what that looked like for him and his family and why he eventually decided it wasn’t the best choice moving forward.

Also in the episode stories are swapped regarding hospital visits, and the impact of us as fathers and how our approaches and reactions can impact so greatly on our family in those times of heightened emotions.

Dustin has his own podcast called ADHD in a Hurry where we discusses various aspects of ADHD and the impact it has on people. The episodes are bitesize in comparison to Dad Dialogue so do go and check out a few episodes from Dustin if you’re interested in learning more.
